Dermot Nolan is member of the Brevia Energy Advisory Board.

Dermot served as CEO of Ofgem, the UK energy regulator, from 2014-2020.  Before that, he was head of the Commission for Regulation of Utilities, the Irish energy and water regulator, for over five years.

As leader of two high-profile regulators for nearly 12 years, Dermot gave numerous media interviews as well as making many appearances before Parliamentary Committees.

Since leaving Ofgem, he has advised organisations in the energy sector as well as serving as a non-executive director and pursuing academic interests. 

This experience has given Dermot an almost unparalleled knowledge of how energy policy and regulatory decisions are made as well as an understanding of the business needs of energy companies. In particular, he has a deep understanding of the politics of energy and how organisations should deal with political and regulatory risk.
